Bronze DPW New York Bridge Plaques Pair Great Architectural 1926
A rare architectural exterior find. 1926 solid cast bronze DPW (Department of Public Works) Ornamental Bridge Plaques from the Depression Era. Each plaque measures 9 1/4" X 5 1/4" X 3/16" deep (not including the bronze attached mounts on the back). They are solid bronze with a wash or some type of finish over them. We did not try to remove the finish. The top of each plaque has a number engraved specific to the bridge it was mounted on these read 8246 B1 and 8246 B3.
