Organic Chair | MoMA Store
Charles Eames and Eero Saarinen, designers whose work is featured in the Museum’s collection, created several versions of the Organic Chair for the MoMA "Organic Design in Home Furnishings" competition held in 1940. Due to the lack of suitable manufacturing technology at the time, the designs were never produced. In 2006, Vitra and the Vitra Design Museum launched the first serial production of the Organic Chair, bringing this classic design piece to life. The Organic Chair is made by Vitra of a comfortable, ergonomically shaped laminated seat shell, polyurethane upholstery, and beech legs stained black.
