I remember summer afternoons as a little girl picking wildflowers for my Grandma Maestranzi, who always had fresh flowers around the cottage. One of my favorite wildflowers was Queen Anne's lace and I was fascinated by the legend of Queen Anne, an expert lace maker, pricking her finger and a single drop of blood falling on the lace. To this day, seeing Queen Anne's Lace growing on the side of the road or in field instantly brings me back to childhood summers & I get that carefree summertime feeling. I wanted to create a fabric that embodied that feeling perfectly & so I drew Queen Anne's Bouquet.
