Though we do love our accessories (bandana, anyone?), there’s nothing like rolling deep with your (well-dressed) crew. And though we all can’t part the crowds with the sole power of our squads like certain celebrities (you know who we mean),that doesn’t mean they’re not the best. Read on for 7 reasons your squad is the number one festival accessory.
There’s nothing better than watching live music with good friends.
Your squad will go to all of your must-see shows with you. That also means you’ll go to their hardcore faves with them—even if you’ve NEVER heard of the performer. Because that’s what friends do, rock out to music you love with you.
You stick together—no matter what.
You know your BFF rocks when she stands in line for the porta-potty with you even when she doesn’t have to use it. Same goes for food, water, anything! You also hold hands while you weave through crowds… Not necessarily because you need to, but because you love each other, and holding hands and sticking together is fun.
You rock the same style.
You match—whether it’s on purpose or not. Your crew’s style works, even if it’s not always the same vibe. After all, you love your squad because they have their own individual sense of style and are not afraid to rock it.
They understand you need a good ‘gram.
And will do whatever you need to make it happen. They say a photo is worth a thousand words, but a music festival picture is worth a million memories (and a few Instagram likes). Capturing memories (RIP selfie sticks) is just necessary. Sometimes you get a good photo on the first try, sometimes perfectly candid shots are captured, and other times, a few takes and readjustments are necessary. True friends will keep their cool and get the shot.
They’re not just your squad, they’re your roomies.
Whether you’re camping or resting easy in a hotel, your squad isn’t just who you hang out with during the day, they’re also your roommates for the weekend. Bonus: This means little FOMO. It also means you get to goof off with them in between shows and get to know everyone even better—if that’s even possible.
They won’t judge you for your dance moves.
I mean really, they’ve probably already judged you and learned to love your crazy (or awkward) dance moves. You should have no fear of getting freaky to your favorite songs when all you want to do is dance your heart out. Festivals are no judgement zones, especially when it comes to your squad.
