Grad Gifts They'll Use More Than Once
We know, time went so fast, reminiscing, blah blah blah, let's fast forward to the hard part: gift giving. Money is fine, it's the first time on their own and all, but will they actually spend it on things they need? We've got a few ideas of how to help them kickstart their professional lives.
1) The "on-the-go" Charger: In this day and age grads will be constantly glued to their phone waiting for a call to schedule a job interview, the coveted "you got the job!" call, or the dreaded "sorry, it's not you it's us (but really it's you)" call. Watching your phone die while waiting, or worse letting it die in the middle of typing a response or chatting with a future employer, can break your grad in this cut throat economy, so don't let them get stuck in that sticky situation. We suggest choosing from the pocket size external battery, the one that jump starts your car AND triples as a flashlight, or the classic case charger. Spring for the 120%, it's their big day after all.
2) The Mini-Tool Kit: When we say mini, we are NOT kidding, we mean tiny, ant size, super teeny because chances are they're moving to a big city where they're paying more than they make in rent for a tiny tiny apartment that MAYBE fits their bed. Maybe. No promises though. We can promise that this pocket size tool kit will fit though, it's a no-brainer, just get it, they need it.
3) Kitchen Supplies: This is serious. We are not thinking adorable spice labels or octopus ice trays, we are thinking toasters and mixing bowls. Y'know, things they need to cook at home. If you're tryna get cute and fancy we suppose you could go with the breakfast sandwich maker-contraption-thingy.
Luggage is always a safe bet (and encourages a trip home!) and a portable laundry basket is also helpful because let's be real even laundry in the apartment building is as rare as a unicorn these days.
