We often associate sequins with the holiday season and fancy parties but thankfully for my fellow sequin-enthusiasts, we now can get so much more use out of our sparkly wardrobe. Dare you wear sequins in summer? THE ANSWER IS YES.
So where to begin...why don't we ease into things with just a bit of sequins? These items tend to be less dressy than their full sequin counterparts, so you can get more wear (AKA bang for your buck) out of these pieces. Markus Lupfer does a lot of quirky t-shirts and sweatshirts with sequin lettering (that I love so much). Wear one of his tees with some silk shorts and flats (or sequin kicks, if you're feeling ambitious), and you're ready for the day...or dress it up at night with some heels. That way you can wear the sequins you love without looking too over-the-top.
If you want to go all out, there's plenty of all-sequin options that you can rock in spring/summer. Just think of what you normally wear during this season -- tanks, shorts, skirts, etc. Find those, but made of sequins (although I pretty much did that for you) and that's probably the easiest way to wear summer sequins. Crop tops, jerseys, rompers -- they're fun and all but why not take it to another level with a whole bunch of (you guessed it) SEQUINS!
If you want to go full sequins without dealing with the potential weight (a sequin t-shirt isn't exactly light and airy), try an accessory. A day bag, a clutch, loafers, even a headband -- although I cannot advise you wear them all at once, pairings just one sequin accessory with a simple summer look is an effortless way to spruce up an outfit. You should try it (my excessive Keeping should be able to get you started).
