Air travel used to be an enjoyable experience. You packed whatever you wanted without fear of confiscation and the condition of your feet remained a secret between you and your pedicurist. Now, we are just glad to see the airline is serving peanuts during the flight and security workers are learning way too much about our personal lives.
One of the most annoying changes has been the ever increasing checked baggage fee. If you are one of the lucky few that can keep your bag weight under 50 lbs (our shoes alone can weigh that much), then you are greeted with a $45 fee per bag to get your precious cargo on the plane. Desperate times call for desperate measures, so things you usually couldn't live without on the road have to stay home - bye bye extra hair dryer attachments.
However, some items are worth shelling out the big bucks to bring along for the ride. They are grown-woman travel essentials and they're worth the sacrifice. Portable phone chargers, no fail bath products, travel kits and fuzzy slippers all make hitting the road a little less stressful. Oh, and we cannot forget a great crossbody purse for excursions and chunky knits for the airport.
Charge us what you want, these items are making the trip.
