Pinterest declares war on good taste: Keep turns on affiliate links as Pinterest turns them off.
Twenty-four hours after Pinterest turns off affiliate links, Keep turns them on for bloggers and influencers to monetize their style.
Friday, February 13, 2015 — Today Keep announces an invitation-only program for influencers who want to monetize their style. Influencers in fashion, décor, beauty and design are invited to earn sales commissions on their product picks on the Keep platforms (Web, iOS, Android).
This announcement immediately follows Pinterest’s decision to stop this same form of monetization for influencers who participated in programs through RewardStyle and HelloSociety to earn commissions from product sales through Pinterest.
"Keep values the contributions made by style influencers, and welcomes them onto our platform to showcase — and monetize — their great taste. Blogging is a business, and these creative entrepreneurs deserve to earn money and recognition for their efforts," stated Scott Kurnit, Keep's CEO and Founder.
Kurnit continues, "We often hear that Keep is like 'Pinterest for products,' without the clutter of cats, crafts and cooking. Keep is pure shopping, where every item is currently available for purchase, in one simple, safe checkout."
Keep will have a qualifying process for influencers who want to participate in this revenue opportunity. Upon approval, influencers will be able to enable their affiliate links from programs like RewardStyle, ShopSense and Skimlinks.
