A set of four, quirky and original handmade coasters with coloured transfer decoration.
Made by an award-winning glass artist, these coasters are perfect for lovers of stylish and unusual products and would make an ideal gift or a striking addition to any home.
Not for beetle-phobes, the transfer designs are taken from Jessica’s own hand-drawn illustrations of beetles and are influenced by a love of Ancient Egyptian art and the Art Deco era.
Each set of coasters is handmade, therefore unique, and takes around five days to make.
Available in bird, bee, beetle and fish designs, as well as matching glass bowls and bone china mugs. Please see my other product listings.
The coasters are kiln-formed from clear and white glass, with fired-on transfer designs taken from Jessica’s own hand-drawn and coloured illustrations. Each set takes around five days to make, requiring two separate firings, the transfers applied painstakingly by hand after the first firing.
This technically challenging range has taken over three years to develop from work made as part of Jessica’s M.A. in Glass. Whilst the use of transfers on ceramics is fairly commonplace, their use on decorative glassware is much more unusual, the translucence of the glass bringing a different quality to the finished piece.
Please note, these pieces are not factory made: each is carefully handcrafted by the artist, so some variation in colour - due to transfer print batch - and slight 'imperfections' in the finish can occur, but these make every piece unique.
These coasters come tied with custom-printed ribbon as standard. Gift wrapping is also available (please see last photo).
Suitable for hot or cold drinks. Not dishwasher safe. Hand wash only.
