The Process Series II - Float
The Process Series II by Matthew Shlian is part of an ongoing exploration into how forms travel through space. In the original series, released in February 2011, Shlian sought to capture different movements--rotation, array, extrusion--through the use of basic geometric shapes of squares, circles, and triangles. In this second series, Shlian studies the paths of a wave, an orbit, and a floating motion through the use of sine waves, parallel rectangles, and concentric circles respectively. An allusion to sound once again plays a role--how sound travels through space--in trying to depict acoustics with repetition, rhythm, harmony, and decay.
