A form of folk art originating from Kodiak Island, Alaska. Tree Shelf fungi, also known as bracken, bear bread, conk, or horse hoof is wood burned or etched. This piece of art work is very finely painted and depicts a rider on horseback with red sun. Signed by the artist in on the lower right (see photo).
