Not all flea markets are created equal. Indeed the differences in the markets is what makes them so interesting. Perhaps nowhere is this more apparent than in the markets of France. For the markets vary as greatly as the country herself. The treasures found high in the French Alps are much different than those found in Paris. And those in northern Brittany are much different than those in the south-western Basque region.
Case in point: a cache of Vintage Spanish Army Tie Bars found at a relaxed summertime market in the town of Anglet, near the Spanish border. These handsome gold colored metal tie bars bear the regal seal of the Spanish Army: an eagle, wings out-stretched, with the Royal Crown of Alfonso of Spain above its head and the red Cross of St. James across its breast.
Strictly limited quantities and subject to prior sale. The tie bar measures 2 5/8" across and 7/8" wide.
